Marketing - Marketing Executive


Department: Marketing
Position: Marketing Executive
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Schedule: Full-Time
Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm M-F, overtime when required


The Open Student Television Network offers an excellent opportunity for a proven self-starter and master communicator with creative instincts to be a part of the OSTN channel’s team.  Prime responsibilities include crafting, developing and executing marketing communications plans and vehicles to raise awareness of OSTN programming and features among consumer audiences, and increase the value proposition of OSTN to content providers and creators.  Must facilitate marketing for all areas of the OSTN company, with duties including all TV/radio promotions, magazine/periodical press and ad sales, developing and executing grassroots campus outreach campaigns, and writing press releases.  The Marketing Executive will be responsible for communicating all information about the OSTN Channel, OSTN Productions and OSTN IPTV to prospective investors, media, strategic partners, content providers and viewers.  Candidate must have experience working in the film and video industry.  Candidate will be organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills, and a strong interest in new media technologies.  Would prefer a person with experience working with higher education.


Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing the successful implementation of tactical marketing plans to support business objectives and goals of the OSTN Channel, OSTN Productions and OSTN IPTV.
  • Work closely with other key team members to ensure marketing tactics are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Direct and manage internal departments and external agencies to produce accurate marketing communications.
  • Manage a variety of off-air marketing initiatives including: consumer, affiliate, ad sales and studio media materials.
  • Manages and provides marketing elements for internal and external creative development, including web design team.
  • Reviews competitive advertising and industry related news and trends.
  • Performs other reasonable and relevant activities and functions as required.

Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in marketing/advertising, or related areas with direct experience in broadcast.
  • Experience/exposure to managing agencies and creative vendors.
  • Strong leader and manager of people and projects.
  • Experience with marketing/promotional events, radio promotions, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills. Creative problem solver.
  • BA/BS degree preferred in Advertising, Communications/Media.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge in 18-24 culture.
  • Background in higher education and/or knowledge of higher education systems.
  • Must be able to travel.
