TRI-C® SPONSORS OSTN NBS INTERNATIONAL MEDIAFEST OSTN and Tri-C® partner to bring Film Festival to College Students
Cleveland, Ohio - August 7, 2008 - Open Student Television Network (OSTN), the only 24/7 global television network devoted to student-produced programming, has announced today that Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®), Ohio's largest community college, offering associate degrees, certificate programs and the first two years towards a baccalaureate degree, has become a Silver Sponsor for the OSTN NBS International MediaFest 2008 (MediaFest), taking place in Cleveland, Ohio, October 16th -18th, 2008.
The three-day MediaFest schedule, designed in part by the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, will feature hands-on production training during the day, student produced media shows at night, networking sessions with Academy Award winning producers and Hollywood production teams, and training sessions on the latest Avid and Adobe media production technologies. These events will take place at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center, the Idea Center and Allen Theatere, Playhouse Square and conclude with a student after party held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
As part of the MediaFest Silver Sponsorship, Tri-C® will serve as one of the keynote speakers and workshop instructors presenting to more than 1000 students that will attend the MediaFest. Additionally, the Tri-C® logo will be featured on the OSTN website and MediaFest promotional materials such as tee-shirts and attendee giveaways. The college has also purchased tickets for more than 100 Tri-C® students for the entire three-day event.

Beginning this fall, OSTN will feature content from Tri-C®’s communication and broadcast students as OSTN's first Northeast Ohio community college member. Submissions will include documentaries, dramas and news broadcasts. Last May OSTN recognized Tri-C®'s Digital Filmmaking programs and student organization, the Digital Cinema Group, and as "the premier local film and production program" in the Cleveland area. Tri-C®'s participation in the OSTN MediaFest is prime example of their commitment to the Cleveland Art and Culture scene. Tri-C® is home to Tri-C® JazzFest Cleveland, the nation’s premier educational jazz festival, and also hosts programs at Playhouse Square and at campus theaters.
